Always bring
- Photo ID — for you and your spouse
- Social Insurance Number — yours, your spouse's, and any dependants'
- Last year's Notice of Assessment — if you have it
- Direct deposit details — a void cheque or your bank information
- Your current address — and the date you moved, if it changed
Income slips
- T4 — employment
- T4A — pension, commissions, other income
- T4A(P) — CPP benefits
- T4A(OAS) — Old Age Security
- T4E — Employment Insurance
- T4RSP / T4RIF — RRSP or RRIF withdrawals
- T5 — interest and dividends
- T3 — trust or mutual fund income
- T5008 — securities sold
- T5007 — social assistance, WSIB
- T5013 — partnership income
- Foreign income — pensions or property over $100,000
Deductions and credits
- RRSP contribution receipts
- Childcare receipts — with the provider's name and SIN or business number
- Medical expenses — prescriptions, dental, glasses, travel for treatment
- Charitable donations
- Tuition — T2202 — and student loan interest
- Rent paid or property tax — for the Ontario Trillium Benefit
- Union or professional dues
- Support payments made or received
- Moving expenses — if you moved at least 40 km for work or school
- Employment expenses — T2200 — signed by your employer
- Digital news subscriptions
- Disability tax credit certificate — T2201
If you have a business or rental
- Income and expense summary — or your books for the year
- Vehicle log — business kilometres and total kilometres
- Home office details — area used, rent or mortgage interest, utilities
- Rental income and expenses — per property
- HST collected and paid — if you are registered
- Capital purchases — equipment, vehicles, improvements
